The Cow And The Rabbit |
|
Dante, 11,
Rochester, New York |
| The
moral of my fable is: What goes around
comes around. |
| My
fable is: Once upon a time
there were two friends that lived in New York City and every day they
both walked to the park near their houses.
One day the
Cow was saying many mean words about how small the rabbit was.
”Lets race to figure out who is the
bigger one is”, said the Rabbit.
So they raced a mile.
Halfway to the finish line the cow
tripped on his laces. He was so confused because he didn’t know how to
tie his shoes.
The rabbit took advantage of
the situation and won the race.
After the race, the extremely nice
rabbit taught the cow how to tie his shoes and the cow never tripped
again. |

practicing", said Marci.
"I don't need to practice like you",
said Jenna. "Whatever," said Marci.

Prince Squirrel And His Greedy
Self |
|
Carlos, 10, New York |
| The
moral of my fable is: Never be greedy. |
| My
fable is: Once there was a
squirrel prince that lived in a poisonous forest. The squirrel’s name
was Prince Squirrel. Prince Squirrel was so greedy that he would steal
money from his rich father.
His dad found out when one of his
guards told him. Prince Squirrel was kicked out of
the castle for what he had done. Prince Squirrel yelled loudly
but was never let back in.
He walked into the forest.
Prince Squirrel thought about what he
was going to eat. He thought about a delicious
nut. Prince Squirrel saw a hole and instead of
finding nuts he found the most terrifying creature he had
ever laid his eyes upon.
It was a tarantula named Big Daddy.
Prince Squirrel ran from the fearsome beast, but was caught in
his web.
Then the tarantula grabbed him and
gobbled him up. So Prince Squirrel was never
seen again .He learned never to be greedy
but it was too late. |

The Horses Who Fought |
|
Megan, 10,
Rochester, New York |
| The
moral of my fable is: Don't fight with
your siblings now because you're going to regret it later in life.
|
| My
fable is: Once upon a time
there were two beautiful horses named Monica and Charlotte.
They were sisters. They lived in a very wide
meadow with very lush, green, and yummy (to the horses) grass.
Monica and Charlotte quarreled
constantly. Their mom was SO sick of it! So she told them about a place
on the meadow where they could see their future.
So they went there and
saw that in their future, Monica and Charlotte
wouldn't have any contact with each other.
They would never see each other again.
They wanted to change their future
because even though they quarreled constantly,
they loved each other very much.
They changed
their future by trying to compromise about everything. |

The Rockin' Wolf And The Cute Chinchilla |
|
Sierra, 10, New York |
| The
moral of my fable is: Don't judge a book
by its cover. |
| My
fable is: In a dark forest,
there once lived a rockin’ wolf. Her name was Winny the Wolf. There was
also a cute, little, pink chinchilla. Her name was Chila the Chinchilla.
One day the two ran into each other.
Winny mumbled, ”I hate Chila. She has the
easiest life in the whole forest!”
Chila heard the nasty comment.
”Why don’t we switch lives?”, asked
Chila.
Winny agreed that they would switch
for one day.
When Winny got to Chila’s neat, little
house she saw a rat run across the floor and screamed. She could not
stand one more second in this house! She ran to her house.
Meanwhile,
Chila was staring at the huge hole in Winny’s roof. It started to rain
and she ran away.
As the two were running they bumped
into each other. “Sorry”,
said Winny, ”I was wrong. Your life is
just as hard as mine”.
They became best friends and lived
happily ever after. |
