The Rabbit Who Raced The Turtle
Darrold, 9, USA
The moral of my fable isDo not brag.
My fable is:

One day their was a Rabbit and Turtle. The rabbit loved to brag and say, "I'm faster than you".

But one day the turtle asked the rabbit to race. The rabbit said that he would let turtle go down one ridge and rabbit would run over the other ridges.

Turtle knew he couldn't win so he went to find his relatives. He told them the plan.

The next day turtle started as soon as he got there just like rabbit told him to. When rabbit got to the starting line he saw the gleaming light off of turtle's shell. Rabbit started as soon as turtle got to the second ridge. Every time rabbit got to the top of a ridge a relative was at the top of the next ridge.

Turtle crossed the finish line himself. All rabbit could do is sit at the third ridge and watch turtle cross the finish line.

The Owl And The Wolf
Angel, 11, New York
The moral of my fable isNever pretend to be someone you’re not!
My fable is:

Jaden was a big wolf. He has a bullying gang. He’s the meanest animal in the animal school. All he does is eat animals that get his gang group and himself mad.

One day there was a girl named Ashley who was walking around the animal school. She heard one of her classmate crying. She didn’t want to help him because he was the meanest wolf in the school.

So Ashley left as fast as she could because she didn’t want to get bullied by Jaden and his gang group. Jaden and his friends with hats said, “I don’t like her and she makes me mad”. Jaden the wolf also said “I’m going to eat that wise owl". Then he told his gang group that it was their plan to eat Ashley.

The next day Jaden told everyone to follow him to his gang place but didn’t tell them where they were going. He didn't even tell Ashley.

They followed Jaden to his gang place. Jaden asked for Ashley. She showed up. Ashley knew Jaden was up to something so when everyone wasn’t looking she stepped out of her robot costume. Jaden tried to eat her but he said, “I can’t eat her it’s hard. It's metal!”.

Ashley left saying, “Never pretend to be someone you’re not!”

The Trap
Jacqueline, 9, New York
The moral of my fable isDon’t follow the crowd.
My fable is:

One day Sam the blue bird was flying past the big forest and heard that Justin the gray wolf was sick.

Sam thought everybody was going to his large house. Sam flew to Beauty the white lamb and told her that Justin was ill. Sam excitedly said, "Justin is sick. Let's go to his big home. Everybody is going now".

However Beauty thought it was a trick and Justin wants to eat up all the animals that come to his large house. Then Sam and Beauty went to Justin's house so Sam could show that he was right. Sam and Beauty saw trail of different kinds of animal species going in but, no trails coming out. Later Sam and Beauty were inside where it was very gloomy. Sam said, "Why is it so gloomy in here?"

Beauty said, "I feel something touching me".

Justin was behind them. Justin grabbed them quickly, rapped them in rope, and put them in a full size black pot. Justin put the big black pot on a fill size stove and started to cook Sam and Beauty.

Sam and Beauty hollered ‘’help!’’ but no one could hear them. Sam found a knife and untied the rope on them.

Beauty took Justin while he was not looking and tied him up. In addition, Sam and Beauty put Justin in the pot. Sam and Beauty ran away. Don’t follow the crowd.

The Mountain
Alana, 10, USA
The moral of my fable isDon't judge a book by it's cover!
My fable is:

The day I climbed the mountain, I couldn't go that far. I was only 7 years old. I tried and tried but I couldn't do it yet.

I grew and grew into a strong young lady. I just kept on trying. But, then on the fourth of July, I packed my back pack with extra food and water and I was ready. I went to the mountain and climbed it and climbed it.

I saw all sorts of things. Mountain goats, mountain lions and bears were only some of the animals I saw.

Then I saw a small, little cottage. It was a faded yellow color. I went and knocked on the door. I waited and there was no answer. So I banged the door knocker. Then a ugly, old beast came to the door and said, "Who dare come to my home!!!" I replied, "I just was wondering what you were up too? Anyway, does anyone come up here to visit you?"

The beast just tried not to cry but he couldn't help it. So I said, "You need a friend don't you?" The beast nodded. I said, "I'll be your friend!"

          Rabbit's New Bike
Alana, 10, USA
The moral of my fable isDon't touch other people's things.
My fable is:

One day Beaver decided to ride his bike over to Rabbit's house. Rabbit's house wasn't too far from Beaver's house.

Beaver got onto his bike and the seat squeaked when he sat on it. Beaver thought to himself, "I need a new bike!" Beaver continued on and rode his bike over to Rabbit's house. He arrived shortly and then Rabbit said, "Hey, Beaver, do you like my new bike?" The bike was a bright shiny red color.

Beaver nodded. "It has a bell too!", replied Rabbit. Beaver thought, "I wish I had that bike!" Rabbit said, "I'll go get us some lemonade". He went inside his house.

Beaver got onto Rabbit's new, bright and shiny red bike. "This is such a neat bike!", Beaver thought to himself. He started pedaling and went down the road. A few minutes later he heard Rabbit yell, "BEAVER WHERE IS MY BIKE!!!!?"

As Beaver was pedaling the new bike, he turned around to see Rabbit and he ran right into the tree.

Rabbit hopped over to Beaver and said, "Beaver, you should have asked to ride my bike and now you ruined it!".

Beaver said, "I am sorry. I should have asked". Being a good and forgiving friend, Rabbit said, "It's ok".

Tiger And Ant Make Bread
Jessica, 9, England
The moral of my fable isNever give up.
My fable is:

One sunny Friday, Tiger and Ant decided to make bread. They got all of the ingredients together and started to make bread.

When it came to knead the dough they split it in two, one for each of them. After a few attempts Tiger began to moan. "What's the matter?", Tiger" asked Ant".

"I can't do it", explained Tiger as he marched out of the door.

Ant found it difficult too but he kept on trying.

After a while he knew he'd got it right. So he left it to prove and then put it in the oven.

When he took it out again it was gold and crispy. It tasted delicious. He asked Tiger if he would like to share it. They went on a picnic in the lovely weather and ate Ant's bread.

The Lion And The Rat
Cassie, 12, North Carolina
The moral of my fable isDon't be naughty!
My fable is:

One upon a time there was a little rat. His mother had told him to clean his room, sweep the kitchen, and help his little brother with his homework.

He did exactly the opposite. He made his room more messy, he left crumbs from his lunch on the kitchen floor, and he started being loud near his brother, while he was doing his homework.

His little brother got very angry, so he told his mom what the rat was doing. His mother got angry at him and punished him by taking away his TV and his video games.

After he had no TV or video games for a week his mother told him to do exactly the same thing. He did not do as he was told. When his mother found out, she told the lion, the king, that her son had been naughty.

When the lion found out, he sent the rat to get some food for lion. The lion told the rat not to eat his food. The rat went to get the lion's food. When he got the food, it smelled so good that he gobbled it up.

When he came back to the lion with no food, the lion got very angry and gobbled up the rat.

Now all the rats friends had heard about it and they did not want to get eaten so they were never naughty ever again.
