Haley, 8, West Virginia

My fable is:

Once upon a time there was a Grinch and he lived on the top of a high hill. Some kids were dared to climb that hill. That day they climbed straight to the top but when they were up there they saw a big building that looked haunted.

Sally Lou was dared to knock on the door and then the Grinch screamed booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo and all the children ran and yelled MONSTER!

Sally Lou kept wondering why that thing screamed at her.

One day Sally Lou went back to the top of the hill again and asked the Grinch, "Who are you and why did you scream at me?"

He said, "I am the Grinch and I hate people".

They kept talking and finally Sally Lou said, "Do you want a friend?"
