One day there was a new baby pup that was born and on that very day there was a big cold front coming though Jingle town.

The baby pup was lost out in the wilderness and asked the king for help. All he said was, "No, you don't deserve my help".

The next morning he found the baby pup on his front porch frozen to death.

One blistery day there lived a small lonely boar who was not strong like the rest of his kind.

One day he found his father in a trap. He quickly ran over and untied him. Not long after he had untied his father a boasting and arrogant lion came along. The small boar said, "Arrogance is not good in the wild". Then the lion said, "Little boar are you challenging me?".

The little boar said nothing for he was too frightened to speak. The little boar's father stepped out of the shadows and challenged the lion to a duel. The lion said, "I will spill your blood on this very spot".

So the battle began. The little boar watched in horror as his father killed the lion. "Thank you father", said the little boar.

From that day on the little boar always tried to help others.

Then every afternoon there was a black bear and her name was Ashley.

So the lion bit the tiger. "If I don't get what I want, I will kill you to get what I want", said the lion.

The lion heard foot steps coming there way. The tiger said, "There are hunters in this jungle. You have led both of us to our death. If this had not happened, we would have been safe".

The Fish And His Treasure
Owen, 9, North Carolina
The moral of my fable isBe happy with what you have.
My fable is:

Deep, deep, down in the Pacific Ocean, a little fish was exploring an old sunken ship off the coast of Antarctica. About 75 million miles down, the terrified fish swam slowly but carefully into the sunken ship.

Suddenly the little fish caught a glimpse of something shiny. "What is that?" The fish said with a confused expression. The little fish swam slowly to the gleaming object. When he got to it he realized it was a treasure chest full of gold!

The fish was overjoyed with his found treasure! He swam back to tell all his friends. On his way home he found another treasure. "If I get that treasure, I'll be the richest fish in the sea", he said.

The little fish swam down to the treasure. When he found out it was guarded by a hungry shark, he swam as fast as he could to get away.

The shark was too fast for the fish and gobbled him up in one ferocious bite!

The fish was never seen again and the shark took the fish's treasure while swimming away.

Oh The Greedy Octopus!
Ayanna, 9, North Carolina
The moral of my fable isIf you are greedy, it doesn't make anything better. It only makes things worse than they already are.
My fable is:

A few years ago, on a very rainy day, there was an octopus named Lola who was looking for something to play with.

He spotted another octopus named Tasha playing with a rather odd ball. It was orange with little green spots here and there. She was playing on the hill that the little fish usually played.

Lola wanted the ball very much. She picked up a dead fish that she had found and pretended that she was going to take it home and eat it. She rushed over to the hill where Tasha was playing with the ball and "tripped" over some coral. "Oh!", cried Lola painfully. I hurt my foot! I hurt my foot! I hurt my foot!", she yelled over and over again.

Tasha dropped the ball. "Oh dear! U-u-u-let me help you!", she said, leaning over to help Lola. As soon as Tasha helped her up though, she raced over to pick up the ball. When she had picked up the ball, she realized that it wasn't a ball after all. She had picked up a big, spiky, blowfish. When it poked her, she dropped it and ran away crying.

She had learned a very important lesson. Never, ever be greedy.

The Cricket With Talent
Joseph, 9, North Carolina
The moral of my fable is:  Use your time wisely.
My fable is:

The crowd was silent as the first cricket played its wonderful tune. It was so soft and peaceful that insects were falling asleep.

When the song was over principal Red Ant called out the next student be to play.

The school auditorium was silent as the audience waited for the next student to play.

Then he tried copying the same song as the first student had played. He missed all the notes, it was horrible. A beetle shouted, "You stink".

Once it was over principal Red Ant called out the winner. It was the first first cricket! The second cricket knew he should have spent more time practicing.
