The Hare And The Tortoise
Vlad, 13, Russia
The moral of my fable isSlow and steady wins the race.
My fable is:

One day all the animals met together. In the middle of them there was a hare. It was very proud. The hare said, "I'm the fastest racer. Nobody can beat me in the running race!."

The tortoise came to him and said, "I can beat you. I can be the first."

The hare laughed at the tortoise and said, "We can organize a race. Do you agree?." "Yes, I agree", said the tortoise.

The race began. The hare started to run very quickly, but the tortoise was running very slowly. The hare understood that the tortoise was behind him and sat in a shady and cool place under the tree. And then the hare was asleep....

When it woke up the hare saw the tortoise was near the finish line. The hare jumped up and ran to the finish but the tortoise crossed the finish line first. The hare was behind it. The hare was late.

The animals said, "The hare didn't win because it's very silly."

Lunch
Zachary, 9, Colorado
The moral of my fable isIf you are deadly, people may not eat lunch with you.
My fable is:

Deadly Shark and Scaly Alligator were eating lunch together on the bench by the swamp.

As Shark ripped into his tuna sandwich he said, "Why does no one ever sit with us?."

Alligator said, "I don't know."

The Turtle That Wanted Everything
Marco M., 12, Mexico
The moral of my fable isEverything will come at a specific time.
My fable is:

Once upon a time there was a turtle in a cool school where everyone had everything and many cool things. But the little turtle didn't have cool things. Instead, he had normal things to use for school.

One day little shark and little fish were bullying him because of his things. "Are you so poor?", asked little shark. "No, of course not", said little turtle. "So, why don't you have our cool things?", said little fish.

"That's true I will ask my dad", said little turtle.

So he started telling this to his dad. He also told his dad that he wanted cool things and not ordinary things. His dad said, "Little turtle, you should know that someday you're going to have those things, but not now because you're young."

So all the days, all the weeks, all the months, and all the years he went to school he was suffering because he didn't have cool things. But he knew one day he would have them.

After fifty years he got all of the things he wanted. "Son, I'm old now and know you are old enough and have earned the things you wanted", said dad gently. "Thank you for telling me what's the best to do, dad", said crying little turtle.

"But one thing I need you to know about those that were telling you that you didn't have cool things. Today they don't know what do with their cool things. They were spoiled by having them too easily and when they were too young", said dad. "Thanks dad", said little turtle.

The Thirsty Crow
Kichu, 7, Abu Dhabi
The moral of my fable isTry, try till you succeed.
My fable is:

It was a hot sunny day. A thirsty crow was flying in search of water.

At last he found a pot. The crow flew down but when he looked into the pot there was only little water.

He saw some stones nearby. He picked it one by one put it in the pot. The water rose and rose, higher and higher until finally it reached the mouth of the pot. The crow drank some water and flew away.
