The Monkey And The Mouse |
|
Aaron & Eoin, 10,
Northern Ireland |
| The
moral of my fable is: Friends can always
rely on each other. |
| My
fable is: One day a
mouse was on his way home when a cat chased
him up a tree in a forest. Then, out of
nowhere, a monkey came swinging along and
found mouse up a tree.
Monkey threw a banana and hit the cat
on the head and made it run away. The mouse thanked the
monkey then said,
“Any time mouse, any time”.
It was soon time for
monkey to go banana hunting with his son.
After an hour or so monkey and his son ran
into a group of hunters. The hunters started shooting at them when
monkey said to his son,
“Go and find mouse. He’ll… know… what to do!”.
So
monkey’s son went to find mouse. He found
mouse by the stream and said, “Mouse, mouse
come quick. Come quick.
Monkey is in trouble”.
Mouse followed monkey’s son to the
shooting range and said, “I have to act fast”.
So mouse ran up the hunter’s legs. They felt the horrible, rough hairs
along their legs and they all ran away one by one.
After a while monkey said,
“Thanks a lot mouse. You saved my life." |

The Beaver And The Mouse |
|
Sean, 8, Michigan |
| The
moral of my fable is: Even small
creatures can do big things. |
| My
fable is: One day
beaver was building his home and
mouse ran by and said can I help. Beaver said,
"No, you are too small. Now scurry off and do not come back."
Mouse ran away and saw another beaver
having trouble building his home. Beaver said, "Can
you help?." Mouse said,
"Yes, I can spare a moment."
Just then the other beaver came by and
said to himself, "I sure am disappointed in
myself for not letting mouse help because I
could have used it!." |

The Frog And TheRabbit |
|
Jack, 9, Michigan |
| The
moral of my fable is: Never
underestimate what your opponent might do. |
| My
fable is: One sunny day a
frog was bragging about how good he was at hopping. He hopped over
plants, holes, and even different animals.
Then rabbit
came. He asked if he could try. Frog said, "Sure, there's a contest
tomorrow but you're wasting your time because you are not going to win
against me."
The next day when
rabbit came to the contest, the frog
was already there. They got ready to jump across a pond. They heard
"Go" and Rabbit hopped and he hopped and he
got across first.
Frog fell in so Rabbit won! He heard
all the animals cheering. He just smiled. |

The Ant And The Bee |
|
Isabella, 9, Michigan |
| The
moral of my fable is: Practice
makes perfect. |
| My
fable is: One day at
berryball practice, Bee walked over to Ant and said, "You
can't score a goal! I always do it. I don't even need to practice.
I am still going to win", Bee said.
The next day Bee showed up and said,
"I am going to score."
The berryball coach blew the whistle.
Ant grabbed the ball and scored! He scored again and again. "Well, I
guess you learned your lesson, Bee... practice
makes perfect!" said Ant. |

|
The Giant And The Ant |
|
Ahraf, 9, Michigan |
| The
moral of my fable is: There are
advantages in being any size. |
| My
fable is: One sunny
afternoon, a giant, an ant, and a few other
village people were playing a game of basketball.
Giant took the ball, leaped up high
and did a slam dunk. Then, Giant passed the ball to Ant. But the ball
was too heavy for him, so it broke one of his legs.
The next day, Ant's leg was
fortunately healed. Also, Ant had changed and made himself giant...
just like Giant. Ant was the one who
always got to do slam dunks.
The game was finished and while Giant
and Ant were walking and talking together, Giant fell into a hole in the
ground and got stuck. All of the village people then said if only Ant
was still small, he could dig underground and push Giant upwards for a
boost.
At
that point Ant realized he was perfect exactly
the way he was so he turned himself back small, dug underground,
and pushed Giant upwards for a boost. Giant
was free!
"I guess you're more useful when
you're tinier", said Giant to Ant. "I guess
so", replied Ant. "I guess so." |
