My fable is:

Once in a really small and full-of-life jungle lived a fluffy light brown monkey named Liana and an orange and black tiger named Aria. It was New Years Eve and Aria and Liana were setting up for the party that they were having the next day. They were having separate parties.

Aria said, "My party is going to to be the best. I'm going to have more people and more fun".

Liana wasn't upset with what Aria was saying. She just replied, "Yes, sure, OK".

The next day Aria was so excited for everybody to come to her party. Liana was waiting for people to show up at hers. Aria waited and waited for everyone to show up but no one ever arrived. In addition Lianas party became an oversized party and Aria came over to Lianas party because nobody showed at her party either.

Aria realized that she shouldn't have bragged about her party and she told Liana that she was sorry. Liana forgave her and then they had a sleepover and danced to their favorite jungle song.

The Curious Giraffe
Adehel, 10, Rochester, New York
The moral of my fable isBe careful what you wish for.
My fable is:

There once was a giraffe. He lived in Africa. He wanted to do many things. But his wish was to be as small as a mouse. The reason why was because he was curious about the animals that were smaller than he.

One night he was outside. The sky was very clear and the stars were clearly visible. They could seen brightly.

Later on the giraffe saw a shooting star. He wished to be small. The next day he felt strange. When he woke up he saw a very big piece of grass. He noticed that he was small. He liked it! He was starting to talk to the animals. He even rode a fly! Later on he heard a thumping noise. It was a stampede of elephants being chased by three lions. He was trying to get out of their way but he got caught in the fight.

He almost got killed. But happily he escaped. After that he wished that he never again wished to be small.

At night he saw the same shooting star from the night before. He wished that he was back to normal. But now nobody knows what happened to the little giraffe.

The moral of my fable isReal beauty is on the inside.
My fable is:

Once in a far away land there was a large, beautiful kingdom. In the kingdom lived a king. He wore big red robes and had a solid gold crown upon his head. A beautiful queen with beautiful shiny hair lived there too. Also there was Princess Stacy.

One day Princess Stacy wanted to tell her father that she had fallen in love with the ugly servant boy. "No child of mine will marry an ugly servant boy. I will not allow this!!", shouted the king. Then Princess Stacy said, "Very well then", and walked away.

Princess Stacy refused to obey her father so she told her mother. "NO NO NO!!! I will not allow this! How can you love him? He has no money and he isn't even royal!!", shouted the queen in a loud but questioning voice.

"But mother, you don't even know him. You haven't looked beyond into his heart. You don't realize that real beauty is on the inside. I will marry him and you can't stop me", said Princess Stacy in the softest voice she could.

The next day finally arrived. The king and the queen woke up to find that their daughter was missing. Later they found out that she had run away to marry the servant boy.

They were together forever and never parted. The king and queen were saddened by the fact that they lost their daughter over something as foolish as not letting her marry the person she loved. They wished they had seen the beauty in him as their daughter did.
