The Snake And The Fish
Aaron, 10, West Midlands, England
The moral of my fable isNever judge others by their size.

My fable is:

One fine summer day the fish and the snake were having a bet about whether land or sea creatures rule better.

The snake was deadly and the fish was stealthy.

So they arranged a race for the creature that says "I lose" is the lesser or the weakest. The first one who touches the whale wins.

The snake was too poisonous and the fish was extremely dodgy. The fish won because the snake had suffocated and he banged his head on the rock. But neither of them was better. There was a stranger who caught both the fish and the snake and had them for supper.

The Cow And The Lamb

The lamb was shopping when she saw just what she wanted. She wanted some cherries. Also shopping was a cow that also wanted some. But there was only one package of cherries.

Then the cow and the lamb got into an argument. The clerk came over to them and said, "What is the problem?"

They told the clerk what happened and the clerk said, "Just share the cherries because there are a lot of them in the package. In one big pack there are fifteen of them".

Then the clerk opened the package of cherries and split them between the lamb and the cow. The lamb and the cow said thank you to the clerk. They enjoyed their cherries together.

The Crab And His Mother
Kara, 10, United Kingdom
The moral of my fable is:  An example is better than a precept.

My fable is:

An old grab said to her son, why do you walk sideways like that my son? You ought to walk straight.

The young crab replied show me how, dear mother, and I will follow your example.

The old crab tried but tried in vain and saw how foolish she had been to find fault with her child.

The Fox And The Rabbit
Sarah, 11, New York
The moral of my fable is:  Small things come in big packages.

My fable is:

One day a fox was in a hole. A rabbit came and said he would help the fox.

But the fox thought how a small rabbit would help him.

The rabbit hopped down and held the fox's arm. Then the rabbit hopped up with the fox by his side.

The fox thanked him and they were friends. So they were always there for each other.

My Dog Can Talk
Caitlin, 8, Michigan
The moral of my fable is:  Believe that anything can happen.

My fable is:

One day I came home from school and saw my dog sitting on the couch.

I wanted to get a snack so I asked myself what to have. My dog replied, "I think you should have yogurt!!!".

I walked in and said, "Who said that?" Zoey said, "Are you surprised that I can talk Caitlin!!"

I said yes. Then my dog Zoey said, "Please get me a treat and we can have a little secret!"

Friends And Enemies
Darrick, 12, Charlotte, NC
The moral of my fable is:  We are good in our own way.

My fable is:

Once there was a boy name Chris and a boy named Joshua. They both liked girls.

One day Joshua said, "I bet you I can get that girl to like me". Chris said, "OK, that's a deal".

They both tried on different clothes and shoes but they both could not impress the girl. After some days, the girl moved away from their school.

From that point on Chris and Joshua learned that we each have things about us that others will like. They also learned that we also have things about us that others will not like.

Then one day the bunny made a very nice friend. He was a turtle. His name was Nick! He was so nice. You could not believe it!!

Then one day Nick offered the bunny the opportunity to live at his house. The bunny said thank you 10 million times.

The bunny went to the woods where he was living. He packed all his stuff right away. He rushed back to where they were when Nick made his offer.

They were outstanding friends. The bunny loved living in Nick's house. They enjoyed being together. And they lived happily ever after.
