The Greedy Rabbit
Aoife, 10, Ireland
The moral of my fable isYou should be happy with what you have.
My fable is:

One day a rabbit was looking for food. He searched everywhere and then he found a fresh shiny carrot. He kept it carefully hidden in his burrow so it wouldn't get dirty.

He skipped along happily but then saw another rabbit with a bigger carrot. "I want that carrot", begged the rabbit. He hopped over to the other rabbit. "Can I trade carrots with you", asked the greedy rabbit.

The rabbit with the bigger carrot smiled to himself. "Sure you can", he replied. So they traded carrots.

The greedy rabbit brought the bigger carrot back to his burrow with delight.

In the meantime, the other rabbit was nibbling away on the smaller carrot. The greedy rabbit tried to bit the big carrot when he realized it was fake.

He was disgusted with himself. The greedy rabbit should have kept his own carrot in the first place.
