The Little Frog
Olivia, 7, Florida
The moral of my fable is:  It is alright to love to jump in spring puddles.

My fable is:

Once there was a little frog whose name was Freddy. He was not like most of the others. Nobody was like him.

He was yellow and he always loved the spring puddles.

Every spring he would wake up very early and head to a puddle to jump in. Then he would get some soap and wash himself off. Then he went back home.

He had a good time.

Lucy turned around and said, "Okay, I'll push you, if you push me".

Max said to Lucy, "That's a deal, but only if I push you first because my dad always taught me that ladies are first!"

Maggie thought well of herself. So she said, "Oh really?" "Yeah", Matt said.

They had a contest for hearing and Matt won. Maggie was very mad at herself. So she never thought too much of herself nor bragged about herself again.

Waiss, 11, Ohio
The moral of my fable is:  There is no believing a liar even when he speaks the truth.

My fable is:

Once there was a hare who lived in a burrow. One day the hare stumbled into an apple tree. It had so many apples he felt like he was dreaming.

Then the fox came and saw the apple tree. The fox was desperate and wanted an apple. So the fox was going to trick the hare.

The fox went over to the hare. The Fox said, "Hi hare". "Hi Fox". "Hey, do you know that I found more apple trees on the other side of the forest?"

Hare said, "Fox can you watch my food?" Fax said, "Of course I can".

So the hare hopped to the other side of the forest. Then the Fox picked all the apples from the tree and went home.

When the hare got to the other side there was no apple tree. When the hare came back to the first apple tree all of the apples were gone.

Finally he just went home. There is no believing a liar even when he speaks the truth.
