|
Adam, 11, South
Carolina |
| The
moral of my fable is: Do not brag until
you know you are best. |
| My
fable is:
Once there was a deer and a fox. The deer's
name was Kerjack and the fox's
name was Bootstrap.
They were deep in the big woods running wild and gracefully.
Kerjack saw Bootstrap running and
sneered, "I can go ten times faster than you."
Fox exclaimed, "No you cannot".
"Let us race", said Kerjack.
"When and where?" asked
Bootstrap.
"At the old mountain trail at three
o'clock tomorrow", said Kerjack.
"Alright", said Bootstrap.
Kerjack soared gracefully over the
trail with fox right on his tail.
Kerjack and Bootstrap could see the
trail end dead ahead. Kerjack and
Bootstrap tied and agreed
that they were equal. |

Give Before You Receive |
|
Jordyn, 10, South
Carolina |
| The
moral of my fable is: Give before you receive. |
| My
fable is:
One day in the woods lived a rabbit and a
greedy monkey. The monkey had the most bananas in the whole forest!
When he went
to town, he always bought all of the bananas
in stock.
On the
monkey's jog back home, he
saw a poor, starving rabbit.
The rabbit asked if he just could
spare him one banana. "No" stammered the monkey.
Right when he said no,
the king lion was right behind him. Lion told
him to explain to him why he couldn't spare one
banana for the rabbit.
The monkey murmured,
"I just can't".
"Well, if
you can't, you will be forced to eat 50 pounds
of rotten bananas", exclaimed
lion.
Then monkey went with lion to the
dumpster and ate 50 pounds of rotten bananas. The
next day he gave rabbit
some of his bananas.
Then, finally monkey learned his
lesson. The moral is to give before you receive. |
