Some time later realized what he wanted to be 20 years later. He wanted to be a teacher.

When he was teaching the kids asked him a question that he didn't know the answer to. So he was looking all over for a book and he remembered that that was the same question that his teacher asked him and he said, "I don't know".

Later that day he found his teacher's phone number and he called her and he said, "I'm very sorry for not paying attention in school. I should've listened."

No Nay Straw
Paula & Geoff, Adults, United Kingdom
The moral is:  Believe in yourself and value your talents.
My fable:

Once upon a time in a far off Celtic land, there lived a brilliant musician. One day he was called to the palace to play for the King and his court. As he arrived at the palace the servant showed him to his bed for the night and he was shocked to find that he had to sleep on straw in the barn.

He told the servant to take a message to the King that unless he slept in the palace he would not play at all. The King was outraged by this and told the musician to leave the palace and he was forbidden to play music in the land ever again.

The musician however, loved his music so much that he just could not obey the King and continued to play his music wherever he could but never told people his name so as not be to found out by the King. When the people asked him why, he told them the story of how the King had forbidden him to play in the land after he had refused to sleep on the straw in the barn. Being such a good musician his story spread across the land and he soon became widely known by the name of "No Nay Straw" for refusing to sleep in the barn.

The years passed on and at the palace, the King's daughter was soon to be married. To celebrate her wedding she invited all of the best dancers and musicians in the land, including "No Nay Straw", to perform on her wedding day.

The day of the wedding dawned and No Nay Straw arrived at the palace in disguise to avoid being found out by the King. However, when it was his turn to play, the King listened and knew that only one man could play so well. The King told No Nay Straw to take off his disguise. No Nay Straw stood before the King and spoke, "Yes, it is me, the one you banned from playing years ago but I cannot stop the music for it is what I love and what I must do and so I will leave".

The king paused for a while and then stood up and spoke to No Nay Straw. "Stop where you are" he shouted. "I realize now such good music must be heard, and so I say to you now, play, play with all you heart, play". No Nay Straw smiled and started to play again and all the other musicians smiled and cheered.

Soon all the crowd was cheering as well as No Nay Straw played the best music they ever heard in the land. The king then arose and proposed a toast. "I say now that no musician shall ever have to sleep in a barn again and from now on all musicians in the land shall sleep a proper bed and never shall they sleep on straw again!

The moral is:  The Gentle and weak are sometimes more clever than the strong and fierce.
My fable:

Katie the koala was walking home one sunny afternoon when cocky cockatoo was going for his afternoon run. Cockatoo ran past and started to tease Katie for being slow.

None of the animals liked Katie because she was too slow and they could not race her.

The next day Cockatoo was playing with his friends in the playground while Katie was watching. She would rather draw or write stories. Suddenly, a big gust of wind came rushing down and knocked a branch off a tree. Katie quickly ran over to pick the branch up, but Katie was too weak and the branch was too heavy for her. Cockatoo heard about this and in a gloating manner picked up the branch and moved it out the way.

The animals teased Katie and said she was weak and that she was just a baby. But Katie just ignored them. All the other animals didn’t like playing games with Katie because she was always too gentle.

But one afternoon when all the animals were at the river Cockatoo thought that he would show of and try and swim out in the deep. Katie told him not to because he could drown. But he just said that he doesn’t listen to silly koalas and that he wouldn’t drown.

So he dived in and started swimming and swimming and swimming till he could not touch the bottom any more. He got so far out that he started to drown and all of the other animals did not know what to do as they could not swim.

But luckily there was a tree hanging over the water. So Katie climbed up the tree and grabbed Cockatoo's hand. Katie pulled and pulled and pulled and dragged Cockatoo back where he could reach the bottom and safety.

After that day, Cockatoo realized that Katie was very clever and good at climbing trees.
