The Dinosaur's Dilemma
Xenia, 10, Curacao
The moral is:  Always help people who are in danger.
My fable is:

One day there was a dinosaur named Kitty who was walking in the tall green grass.

Then the meanest, ugliest, and the richest T-Rex named Goon came marching down to Kitty to kill her because she has the best meat.

As Goon caught her, Kitty’s best friend known as Dina saw Kitty in danger. She made a phone call out of rocks and she called the strongest, funniest, kindest and the poorest T-Rex named Dino.

When Dino heard this, he marched to Goon and crept behind him and bit Goon really hard.

Dino kept doing it until Goon fell down and gave up trying to hurt Kitty.

Kitty cheered and gave a dinosaur hug. Dino was kind of embarrassed.

Kitty gave Dino a gift in return of his kindness and she also gave one to Dina because she made the phone call.

The Three Family Dogs!
Tania, 10, Curacao
The moral is:  Never think badly of someone because it may be a surprise.
My fable is:

One day there was a family dog named Carina that lived in the dogs’ world. Carina was a puppy and today was her birthday.

She thought that everybody forgot about her birthday.

When Carina went to school and she was talking to her friend, she ask her friend: “Did you forget about something?”

Her friend named Sabrina said no.

After a while she went back to her house. She asked the same thing of her mom that she did of her friend. Her mom answered just like her friend by saying no.

Then Sabrina told her mom, “Mom I’m going outside”, and her mom said OK.

When Carina came back inside, she turned the light on and everybody said "Surprise!"

And just like that Carina figured out that nobody forgot about her birthday.

Tanisha didn't have time to eat the toast that her mother laid out for breakfast.

She hurried because she really wanted to get to school. She was late. The bell rang and classes started but she didn't give up.

Most of the afternoon went fine all because she didn't give up.

The Snake and the Frog!
McKenna, 9, California
The moral is:  Tricksters get caught in their own tricks.
My fable is:

One day, a frog was happily hopping home from the Pond Mall with some groceries. When she was spotted by a snake, the snake jumped out of a bush and scared the frog.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!", said the frog. "Don't be scared little frog", said the snake, "but guess what?", said the snake. "What?" said the frog.

"I just saw a juicy fly back at the Pond Mall", said the snake!

And do you know what that frog did? Well... she dropped her groceries right in front of the snake and hopped backed to the Pond Mall.

But the frog could not find the fly. But she still looked and looked. Meanwhile the snake ate all of frog groceries but didn't know that it was all flies. And when the frog got back she saw her grocery bags empty.

"I wouldn't have done that if I were you," said the frog" Why", said the snake. "Because you just ate flies!", said the frog.

And do you know what happened? The snake got sick and never tricked or bothered another animal ever again!

When you Share, It's Better
Mrs. H., for her 4th grade class, Tennessee
The moral is:  It is nicer to share than to fight with others.
My fable is:

Tiger and Horse were at Walmart. They both wanted to buy a new game system. The store only had one more left.

Tiger and Horse both ran for it, and then began to fight over it.

Butterfly and Rabbit were in the next aisle, and decided to help. They stopped the fight between Tiger and Horse, and told them it was better to share.

Tiger and Horse decided to buy the game together and share it. After they paid for the game system, they went to Tiger's house to play together.

Tiger and Horse were happy because they both had a new game system, as well as a new friend to play with.

The Greedy Cat
Yuliza, 10, California
The moral is:  Treat others the way you want to be treated.
My fable is:

On a farm, in a big red barn, there lived a fat cat and a skinny bird. The cat was known for being puffy and mean, while the bird was nice and fair to his friends.

One day the cat and the bird were talking about food. This made the cat hungry so he asked the bird if he would go get him something to eat and something to drink.

The bird was happy to bring the cat what he wanted.

Seeing how much the cat enjoyed the food, the bird asked if he could have some too. To his surprise, the cat said no because he wanted it all to himself.

The next day, the cat asked the bird if he would get him some food and drink again. This time, remembering that the cat did not share the day before, the bird politely said no and walked away.
