| The
Horse and the Girl |
| Breylin, 9, South Dakota |
| Moral:
If you are going to have two pets you need to divide your attention evenly and not
forget about one. |
| My
fable: Once there was a girl living in a
forest. Her name was Ibee. When she was picking blueberries, she saw a horse and she
chased after it trying to catch it. When she finally caught it, she put a saddle and
halter on it so it would be ride-able.
She broke it the next morning and decided to take it to her
parent's house to let them see it. When two years passed she finally named it
Thunder. Then, one day she found another horse and never rode Thunder.
That made Thunder very very jealous. When she finally
decided to ride Thunder, she got on and started but, because she had not
ridden Thunder in
a really long time, Thunder bucked her off and hurt her really badly.
Ibee was scared to get on Thunder for a couple of weeks but
when she finally overcame her fear she got back on and rode. She told Thunder she
was sorry and Thunder forgave her. She never forgot the other horse. |

| The
Chinchilla And The Mouse |
| Kobi, 8, Ohio |
| Moral:
Face your fear. |
| My
fable: Once upon a time a furry, little,
fearful chinchilla had a problem because he knew someone was out to get him.
"Oh help!" said the chinchilla. Someone's out to get me!
A furry, petite, peppy, brave mouse heard the shouts.
"Help me, someone help!" The mouse went to help. He followed the
shouts right to the timid little chinchilla who was standing right in front of the
stranger.
"Stop!" said the mouse. "Don't hurt
him." The chinchilla finally figured out he had to stand up to the stranger
whether he got hurt or not. He stood up to the person, tried to push him, but
Chinchilla's hands went right threw the stranger!
So Chinchilla and Mouse found out that the person was all a
joke. He was only a hologram! |

| The
Cook And The Actress |
| Brittni, 15, Kansas |
| Moral:
Like a person for who they are not what they do. |
| My
fable: Once there was a girl named
Lizzie. Lizzie was a cook -- not a professional cook, but one that worked at a
restaurant where all the actors and actresses go.
Well, one day an actress by the name of
Charlene came to the
restaurant. She came to check out the restaurant since it was her first time there.
She went back to where the cooks were. When she got back there, she saw
Lizzie.
Lizzie and Charlene were completely different. One was
an actress and one was a cook. You know that an actress would never become friends
with a cook... right? When Charlene saw Lizzie she thought being a cook would be
fun. They talked to each other about their jobs and became the best of friends.
Once the directors heard about Lizzie and
Charlene, they went
completely nuts. They said an actress could never be friends with a cook. All
Charlene said to make the directors quiet down was, "Like a person for who they are
not what they do." |

Farmer and The Lion |
| Cole, 8, Kansas |
| Moral:
Don't judge something by its position. |
| My
fable: One day a lion was walking past an
African farm when he spotted a blueberry tree. The lion approached very carefully.
Then the farmer stormed outside. "Get away from my
crops you lion!" yelled the farmer.
"But all I wanted was one tiny blueberry. Why
won't you let me have one?" asked the lion trying to encourage the farmer to let him
have a blueberry.
The farmer was quick to answer, "Because those are my
blueberries." The farmer screamed, "Now scram!" The farmer was
yelling at the top of his voice.
Then the lion went behind the nearest tree. When the
farmer went back into the house the lion sneaked back to the farm and was about to take a
blueberry when the farmer came back to water the plants.
"Here Rose, come chase this lion," said the farmer.
The lion ran for his life. |

She went to see how much it was and it cost $155
dollars. So she went home, told her Mom and her Mom said, "You have to buy it
with your own money."
Elizabeth looked in her wallet and she had $11.52. So
Elizabeth sold her stuff and mowed lawns, babysat, pulled weeds, dusted and helped with
pets. Then she finally had the money.
She and her Mom went to Wal-Mart Super Center and they looked
for it but someone else was buying it. Elizabeth looked at the girl who bought it
